Joss Naylor Challenge · 29 April 2016

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

on 17th July this year, I plan to attempt to solo run the 38 mile Gerry Charnley Round

This follows on from my record breaking Joss Naylor Challenge run, from Pooley Bridge to Greendale Bridge, which I completed on 12th May in 9hrs 59mins

I am running in memory of family friend Gerry Charnley, who died in a tragic avalanche accident on Helvellyn in 1982 when he was the same age as me now, just 53. Gerry brought the sport of orienteering to the UK, and started the 2 day Karrimor Mountain Marathon (now The Omm) and as a boy I remember his smile and enthusiasm.

I am raising money for the MS Society to honour the heroic sporting efforts of my friend James Brown, who rescued someone's life during an orienteering event in Sweden and kept the story a secret for more than 30 years. James now suffers from Multiple Sclerosis and cannot run anymore. I can though, so I'm running this for him. You can read James' amazing full story here :

I hope to raise as much as possible for my nominated charity, Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Thank you so much for your support.
