Fundraising for Rochdale Children's Moorland Home
Story
I’m setting up this fundraiser in memory of my Grandma Eileen Taylor who recently passed away. Many of my family will know that Grandma & Grandad Taylor has 11 children and raising so many children is no easy task, they had many tough times raising such a large family. So in Grandma’s memory and in memory of the family she and Grandad Taylor gave us, I have decided to set this up to raise money for moorland home (who’s details are below). Because sometimes families and children need a little help

Rochdale Children's Moorland Home has been providing holidays to disadvantaged children for over 125 years. Covid-19 put a temporary stop to this but we still have ongoing costs and our donations have reduced by around 90%. It costs around £5500 month to keep the charity going. We want to be prepared to start up as straight away once safe to do so. We believe, from discussion with our referrers, demand for our service will surge over the next year and beyond. Covid-19 has put many families and children into crisis and they need you now more than ever.Referrals are made by schools and social care. Referrals come to us for many reasons including but not limited to, children who have suffered loss, suffered abuse, family members with medical problems, death of a family member and poverty. Yes, poverty. Even in 2020 there is child poverty in the UK. 45.4% of children in the Greater Manchester area (63,427 children) live in poverty. YOU can help us to help them.
