Event: Northampton Half Marathon 2021, on 26 September 2021
Participants: …it’s time for me to get rid of that lockdown tummy (too many box sets ‘consumed’ with popcorn etc) and raise some money for a brilliant cause that is less than a mile from where I lived for 20 years and 3 miles from where I work (Barclays Northampton)
The Frank Bruno Foundation is a Mental Health and Well-being charity that aims to support anyone over the age of 10 struggling with early stage mental ill health. This is done through a combination non-contact boxing and well-being workshops.

Story

I was brought up in the 80’s / 90’s and was very impressed to see boxers like Frank Bruno and Rocky Balboa become champions!

30 years later I am even more impressed to hear Frank being so open and honest when talking about mental health challenges.

Within The Frank Bruno Foundation (Northampton based) Mental Health and Wellbeing Centre and Gym they are providing a safe environment for individuals facing and recovering from mental ill health symptoms by delivering wellbeing sessions alongside non-contact boxing workouts bringing together healthy bodies and healthy minds.

Special thanks to Debbie and Brandon… for making me aware of this fantastic charity xxx
