Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 17th February 2017 my husband had a tragic accident and the Air Ambulance attended. Unfortunately as friends and family know Martyn passed away but received the most amazing treatment both at the scene and on route to hospital.
As a region the service The Great North Air Ambulance give is second to non and without this we as a region would be at a loss. The cost of a flight to an accident is approx £3500 and we as a group are committed to raise as much as possible to help this service continue to help injured and unwell people in this area.
So why set up this page this early well as you know we are all not the most athletic people and this page is not only the motivation to train but to get fit and make a difference.
So the team consists of:
Me, Donna I can cycle but running has never been my thing but I am determined to get round the site in a good time.
Louise, ok so I’m so not a runner, not built to run but decided that rather than make a New Years Resolution I would make a New Years lifestyle change so out with the fridge picking and in with the clean eating (well for 6 days a week) and the excercise has started. Putting this out early will give me the determination to keep on going. I am determined to finish before they start clearing up at the end of the day!
Aaron, a rugby lad but not a long distance runner but Martyn always told me to be the best version of myself and I am proud to run in his memory.
Sam, ran when I was at school and determined to start this again I believe that running in Martyn’s memory will give me the motivation to do this.
Sandra
Age should never stop you raising money for a GREAT cause, so when Donna asked if I would like to join them and take part in Great North Run, in the memory of Martyn and to raise money for the North East Air Ambulance, I was honoured. I only met Martyn once but I was incredibly touched by what a warm and welcoming person he was and I wish I could have known him better. So gym and treadmill here I come and I hope we can raise as much money as we can in the memory of Martyn and for the North East Air Ambulance Service.
So that’s us, We know that it’s hard to make money and We appreciate every penny that is donated to us and we will not let any of you down. We will all finish the race, we cannot guaretee to finish with the elite athletes but we will finish.
So all of our places have been guaranteed and our numbers have arrived, so let’s do Martyn and the Great North Air Ambulance proud.
Thanks from all of us x
