Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This run is thanks to Pene and here is her own story;
Hello everyone – my name is Pene Jelley and I have Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis, which causes a steady decline in mobility and other faculties. I was diagnosed over 30 years ago and have needed to use a wheelchair for the last 15 years. Thanks to the treatment I have received at the Samson Centre for MS, which is a Guildford based charity, my life has been transformed. The treatments offered by the Centre include neurological physiotherapy, individual programmes of specialised exercises and baric oxygen therapy. A combination of these therapies has been of great benefit to me. My well-being has improved and the rate of deterioration in my condition has slowed down. The Centre provides great support to all who attend, both patients and carers. This regime of regular treatment is not available on the NHS, nor does the Centre receive any Government funding so we are almost entirely reliant on funds raised for us by supportive friends and in this case, by those still able to run! Thank you for your support.
