Guy de Jersey Lowney is raising money for Walking With The Wounded

Participants: Dom Blakey & Dits, if I can blame anyone it's them, and myself! Dom and I did the South Downes Way during the summer and loved it so this seemed like a good idea.Dits wants me dead for drunken gardening so he also thought it a good idea..

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I always enjoyed the film Four Feathers, the original black and white version.  It's all about a young man who disagrees with the war and doesnt enlist, he has the courage of his convictions but is branded a coward for them, he is given four feathers by his closest friends.  In the end he goes out to the Afghanistan and rescues them all from certain death returning all the feathers, real hero stuff.

I wouldn't have enlisted, its not the dying which frightens me, it would be the chance I could come home with a life changing injury which I would find impossible to live with, I'm a prime candidate for four feathers.

And yet soldiers do enlist, for us, to protect us, they risk it all and some come home with life changing injury.

So I'm not brave enough to go into a combat zone but I'm smart enough to recognise we have a significant responsibility to do right by our armed forces.

WWTW helps soldiers get going again and if I can raise a few quid for them by turning myself a funny colour running up and down sand dunes so be it, sign me up.

One final and very important note, I have a benefactor who donated the cost of the entrance fee for me to be able join the WWTW team.  He tells me he did this because he is passionate about this charity, the work they do and most importantly the people they help.  Thank you Dits & Polunin.
