Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Hong Kong Scotland Education Connection (HKSEC) was founded in January 2012 by Hong Kong businessman Nigel Fong, a former boarder of Morrison's Academy in Crieff. The organisation aims to foster and facilitate academic, cultural and sporting links between Scottish and Hong Kong schools.
Led by Morrison's Academy teachers Patrick and Mary O'Kane, this year's team of twenty intrepid pupils will head to Hong Kong this October to take on the Raleigh Wilson Trail, a 78km trail race going from Hong Kong Island to the New Territories. Covering city streets, reservoirs and mountains, the event will be a physically and mentally challenging one for the team. The race takes place on the weekend of 10th and 11th October, with team members running through the night to complete the race. As part of their trip they will also visit a number of schools and cultural organisations.
The twenty pupils are:
Nathan Avinou; Maura Brown; Andrew
Campbell; Chris Campbell; Fraser Clark; Tara Forster; Josh Harrison; Cara
Johnston; Angus Lindsay; Matthew Manners; Julie MacDonald; Marianne MacDonald;
Edward McDairmid; Jack McDonald; Rory Phelan; Max Roarty; Conall Strickland;
Sol Sweeney; Findlay Watson; Ewan Williamson.
This year, the team are fundraising for Capability Scotland's Stanmore House
School. Stanmore House is a specialist school in Lanarkshire for day and
residential pupils between the ages of 5 and 18 who have severe and complex
needs.
