MCM2 Crew 4 is currently 2 months into a deployment in HMS MIDDLETON, one of four mine hunters currently forward deployed on operations in the Gulf Region as part of OP KIPION.

Deployments for minehunters usually lasts for 6 months. During this time, we like to undertake a charity event to raise awareness for a worthwhile cause.

In Oct 16, MCM2 Crew 4 undertook the three peaks challenge in the UK, climbing the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales. On 30 Oct 17, we are going to recreate the challenge in the American Naval Base Bahrain. We figured it was summit to do!

We will climb the combined height of the three peaks which is 3408m using a climbing wall. This will entail climbing it 426 times. The route between the three peaks is 465 miles, this distance will be covered on exercise bikes.

Usually this challenge is completed in 24hrs, we intend to complete the challenge in 12.

We will all be away from our families this Christmas, and as such won't be able to give presents to our loved ones. To us, this made the hard work done by fatboys cancer charity all the more poignant.
