Centrepoint is the UK’s leading youth homeless charity. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 16-25 year olds into a home and a job every year. Our award-winning helpline provides support to vulnerable young people across the country. We campaign to end youth homelessness by 2037.

Story

So my story: I became homeless at 16 when I found Centrepoint and embarked on a long gradual process of development and self-discovery which has run into my early twenties.

After years of engaging with the services Centrepoint provides and picking up the running bug as a prescription for my incipient fatness, I decided to run the London Marathon for Centrepoint. And I did, raising over £2000.

Interestingly I now work for Centrepoint and thus the corny fairy-tale comes full circle. But it's not as sexy fundraising as a staff member than as a homeless young person; I certainly don't feel sexy.

And so here I am asking for a humble £800 to reflect my reduced emotional status. I hope it works.
