Here I am snuggled in my sleeping bag by the Manchester Cathedral!

Many people will know just how much I love sleeping!  But, when my pal and colleague, the inimitable Lorraine Smith registered to take part in this charity sleep-out, and asked if I'd join in I thought, "Yes, that's a fab idea, there’s no reason why I can't take part and raise some much-needed cash too.”  This is for a great cause that provides hot meals, and practical help and support to get people safely off the streets.  I fully appreciate that I was safely looked after by the charity for a mere night,  I'm so fortunate that the following night I went home and could get back between warm sheets in my own safe and cosy bed!

The charity's mission: The Booth Centre is here to bring about positive change in the lives of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and help them plan for and realise a better future. We do this by providing advice to find accommodation, education, training and help to secure employment, free healthy meals, support in tackling issues with health and addiction, and creative activities to boost confidence and self esteem.
