We support treatment, research and care to make our hospitals even better

Story

In November 2020 our daughter, Anna, was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a liver cancer. She endured months of chemotherapy and a liver transplant, but unfortunately her cancer recurred in January this year and so she‘s back again to having treatment at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Anna is fortunate to be able to have her treatment on the oncology daycase unit meaning she can be at home and school as much as possible. The unit are absolutely brilliant especially the fantastic playteam, who are always there to keep the kids entertained, help alleviate fears and even lend an ear to parents. Anna and her younger sister, Eva, are excited to be running the mini Great Manchester race to celebrate that Anna is well enough that she can! And as an added bonus any money they raise will be donated to the oncology daycase unit so they can continue doing a wonderful job supporting families like ours.
