Huntington's Disease Association England and Wales exists to support anyone who is affected by Huntington's disease. It pursues the best possible care; provides training and advice to families and professionals; raises awareness, and promotes research towards better treatment and care.

Story

I'm not a big runner (physicality reasons) - the risk of giving myself two black eyes. Kim runs everywhere but normally in heels and Emily runs to the pub most nights.

But in a months time we're attempting a 10K for The Huntington's Disease Association (I told Emily there's a free bar at the finish line and Kim that she'll get a free Mac lippy so they're in)

I wish more people knew about Huntington's Disease and the impact it has on lives. A terminal illness that traps the sufferer in their own body for the final stages as the brain slowly shuts down and they are left unable to fight for what little quality of life they have left.

There's no cure and there should be but the HDA are going above and beyond to discover a cure for the evil disease and put an end to all the suffering. For some it's too late, my brother Sam has the disease and throughout his 20s it has consumed his life and snatched many things away from him, but it hasn't taken his humour, good spirit, manners, fondness for other people and his smile that inspires me every day.

Donations of as little as £1 are massively appreciated, the most important thing is to spread awareness and not treat victims of the disease like outcasts just because they're 'different'.
