Nope, I'm not getting married (!) but now that I have your attention, do read on.
The 22 April 2018 is next years London Marathon, and I have teamed up with the wonderful people at YoungMinds and Heads Together who have kindly given me a place to run for them and raise money and awareness for the fantastic work they do!
Many friends and family will know that I enjoy running (and here’s hoping that continues over the next few months!) but most will not know that I have, in the past, experienced mild anxiety and still have trouble with obsessive compulsive disorder.
Our mental health is so important, it includes our psychological, emotional and social well-being. It impacts how we feel, think and act in situations and also determines how we make choices, relate to others and handle stress.
YoungMinds is the UK’s leading charity championing the wellbeing and mental health of young people. I chose to run for them as not only can I draw on personal experiences, but also because I am passionate about supporting and promoting Mental Health.
Running for me is not only a great way to keep fit, but is also a wonderful way to clear the mind, feel good and listen to some absolutely awful music! Please do sponsor me with anything you can and leave me a song recommendation so that I can build this in to my running playlist for the big day!
