We provide the opportunity of riding to improve the lives of disabled people

Story

As a family, we have been involved with Horsley & Bookham Riding for the Disabled Association for many years and have seen the joy it brings to children and young people with a wide range of disabilities. The therapeutic riding sessions increase confidence, co-ordination, wellbeing and physical health and give the riders a chance to make friends and access the countryside whilst learning a new skill.

Horsley & Bookham RDA recently obtained planning permission to build a brand new indoor riding school which will allow lessons to take place all year round. The riding school will contain a large arena which will provide a safer riding environment, a hydraulic lift to aid riders in mounting and dismounting the horses and a fully accessible classroom.

The charity is entirely volunteer run and there is currently a long waiting list of children wanting to ride. The new indoor school will enable the charity to increase the number of rides it can offer.

The charity has raised 80% of the funds needed to build the indoor school but it doesn't have enough funds to cover the roof build. Zachary & Samuel have chosen to support the "Raise the Roof" campaign and simply ask for a small donation by way of sponsorship for them completing the 10k Surrey Hills Challenge which takes place at Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking on 26th September 2021.
