So with 5 days left to go I am privileged to be able to take part in A Jump for Freedom Skydive for Mercy Ministries UK.

This is an incredible organisation that is very close to my heart.

 

Mercy Ministries UK is a national charity dedicated to providing a six-month residential Christian discipleship programme for young women suffering from life controlling issues, such as eating disorders, self-harm, depression, and the effects of abuse in all its forms.

 

We are committed to providing the young women we serve with excellent programme services that allow them to recognize their self-worth and prepare them to reach their full potential. Our Christ-centered approach to healing allows young women to permanently stop destructive cycles and prepares them to take hope out into their communities.

 

You see 5 years ago I was one of these girls. October 2008 I walked through the gates of Mercy Ministries U.K, a broken, lost, and very angry 18year old who trusted nobody. The real me had become buried so deep, that I’d find myself looking in the mirror, and many times it would almost be as if it was an unknown face staring back. Here I was loved through a time of brokenness, they took me as I was, and met me where I was at. I no longer had £ signs or what I could offer placed on me for value, but instead told I was worth far more than rubies and pearls. My identity no longer was seen through my weight or appearance, but instead through the eyes of the cross, Mercy Ministries simply echoed everything of the Father’s heart.

 

5 years on I now find myself sat at my desk typing these words reflecting on the journey of faithfulness and all those who partnered with it in helping make a way for me to find freedom. The unknown face no longer stares back; instead the face of a daughter who is excited for each new day beams. I’m now married living a life full of adventure that I never imagined possible; and that desk I’m sat behind working at each day is in the corporate office at Mercy Ministries UK, I’m now the Partnerships Assistant. This is where I work, this is where I get to dream, and this is where I get to declare that with God there is never a too late!

I will Jump for the Freedom of Girls to come after me!
