We know that terminal illness turns lives upside-down. We help people live as well as possible for as long as possible and ensure their final days are comfortable and peaceful. We support families, friends and carers too. We depend on your kindness for 80% of the cost of delivering our services.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So.. I am absoluetly petrified but have decided to jump out of a plane for charity. Having already chickened out before I decided if I was to do it I might as well do it for an amazing cause.

Having met The Heart of Kent Hospice and hearing about the amazing work that they do has really made me want to raise money for them.

The Hospice supports people of all ages and the families of the people they look after. Although it is a registered charity, they only get about a third of what they need from statutory funding and it costs around £3.8 million per annum to run the hospice.

Hospice care is free to those who need it and they are therefore heavily dependent on fundraising.

I am hoping to raise £500 and to give you an idea of what the money can be used for:

£500 pays for a child to have a series of counselling sessions.

£125 pays for a Specialist Community Nurse to visit a patient at home.

£200 will pay for a new blood pressure monitor for the ward at the Hospice.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

In order to help those in need,

I'm doing a charitable deed,

I'll jump from a plane,

So don't let me abstain,

With your donations we succeed.
