London Landmarks Half Marathon 2018 · 25 March 2018 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Quite possibly two of the most unfit, unmotivated and food loving human beings to walk this earth are about to start training for the London Landmarks Half Marathon on the 25th of March 2018 in support of the Alzheimers Society! Starting on the Mall and ending on Downing Street, we're going to move our little legs and somehow get through the gruelling 21km.

To honour and remember our lovely Grandads, Les Waghorne and Tony Edmonds, who both sadly passed away from this horrible and unfair disease, we'll be running (dragging ourselves) through a cold winter of training to show how strongly we want to make a change. Unfortunately Dementia affects over 850,000 people in the UK resulting in nearly all of us coming across it in our lifetimes, which simply isn't fair.

It won't be easy in the slightest, with neither of us having any running experience, but we're ready to kick butt and do our families, and more importantly - our Grandads proud. Dig deep, show us your lovely support to give us that push to get outside and chew our way through those miles, both in training and on the big day (eek).

Thank you so much!
