Jagjit Aujla Annual Football Match · 19 February 2011
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Everyone involved in the event will be raising money via this website, so the total amount raised will be a joint effort.
This year we will be doing a Beard and Moustache growth followed by a Charity football event in Memory of Jagjit Aujla on the 12th of Feb.The match this year will be played in Leamington on the 12th of Feb ( I know the event states the 19th Feb but I put the the page up late)
The match itself was probably the best so far with Harj Aujla XI leading 3-1 and Team Vile coming back to win 4-3 in the closing minutes of the match. It was a special day as it would have been Jag's 30th Birthday and his friends from Sunderland did him proud by winning the trophy.
The money raised this year will be going towards research into Osteosarcoma which is what Jagjit was diagnosed with. Further reading available here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osteosarcoma.
The NECCR is a registered charity which was founded by parents to raise money for research into childhood cancer. Much of the research is carried out at the Sir James Spence Institute and the Northern Institute for Cancer Research in Newcastle. The money we raise will be going towards the RVI hospital Newcastle Upon Tyne.
