I am going to run Reading half marathon on 1st April 2012 and raise money for Bliss
Many of you will have or know someone with children. Imagine if they had been born prematurely or sick – you would expect there to be support and help for them.
That’s where Bliss come in. Bliss is the special care baby charity, providing vital support and care to premature and sick babies across the UK. Offering guidance and information at a critical time in families' lives. They also fund ground-breaking research and campaign for babies to receive the best possible level of care regardless of when and where they are born. Bliss is the only national charity dedicated to improving both the survival and long-term quality of life for babies born too soon, too small or too sick to cope on their own.
Bliss believe that:
· All premature and sick babies and their families should have the best possible care and support
· Babies should have the same rights as anyone else
· The voices of babies and families must be heard
· Driving quality and innovation in the NHS will deliver improved care for premature and sick babies and their families
· They can achieve more by working together with individuals and organisations
· They must always be able to demonstrate the difference they make to the lives of babies and their families.
