Last August, a dear friend died, aged 37. She was a wife, a mother of 2 gorgeous boys, an inspirational trainer and so much more to so many.
One of the things that we shared was a passion for pushing boundaries - finding your boundary, pushing hard against it - and then making a new one... and repeat...
Rella inspired in me a love of pushing these boundaries whilst running outdoors.
I miss Rella every single day and so I decided to train for something bigger as a way to channel that emotion, just as I imagine Rella would have pushed me to do.
At the end of this month I will be taking part in my first marathon. A few weeks later, I will be running the Catamount 50km Trail Ultra in Vermont. I have been training since January and the time is fast approaching.
In doing this challenge and because it was inspired by Rella, I would also like to ask for your sponsorship for a cause that supports life, for children whose futures should still be before them.
I am raising funds for "Save a Child's Heart" - which brings children from developing countries to the pediatric cardiac unit in Wolfson Centre in Holon, Israel where doctors volunteer their time to perform surgery - and save a child's life.
Rella had such a big heart. She left such a big hole in mine. I would be so grateful if you would sponsor my craziness for what is a very special cause in memory of a very special person.
Thank you,
Harriet
