Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some people may know, I was supposed to be running the 2020 London Marathon earlier this year. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it had been postponed until the 4th October. I had already made the decision to defer my place to 2021, but when the October race was postponed again, runners were given the chance to take part in a Virtual London Marathon; we will have 24 hours to complete the 26.2 miles, from 00:00 to 23:59 on Sunday 4 October.
Since my training went totally out of the window when lockdown started, I will not be running the 26.2 miles. But I have decided that I will walk the Marathon distance (probably with a stop at the pub in the middle) and try to raise some money for charity whilst doing so. The route is to be confirmed closer to the walk date, but I am hoping people will join me for parts of the walk to provide moral support (If anyone would like to join, please let me know and I will tell you the details closer to the time).
Throughout this pandemic and the period in lockdown, it has really hit home how important mental health is and how valuable Mental Health charities are. Dudley Mind is an incredible local charity that helps people in the local area that are experiencing struggles with their Mental Health.
I want to raise vital funds to help them carry out their work. Please do not feel obliged to donate as I understand money is very tight during these unprecedented times but anything will help.
