I’m going to walk a marathon a day for two days through the hills of the Cotswolds to raise money for School Ground Sounds which is a charity run by my friend Tom. SGS provides support to young aspiring musicians from disadvantaged backgrounds. Particularly through their mentoring programme and the Grit School (a six-week crash course in the music industry) they provide young people with contacts, insights, skills and confidence to pursue their dreams. With the decline in priority and funding given to music in state schools the demand for what SGS offers is greater than ever.
