We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hello all

Harri's big brother Alex died from a rare brain cancer and is missed everyday.  Alex was a kind, caring and fun brother who loved everything Harri did, Alex said " she is the reason I wake up in the morning".  To me he was a beautiful son who loved life and always had a smile on his face, he was always willing to help anyone he could and he was an absolute joy and I am privileged to be his Mum.    To his friends Alex was an inspiration, he never gave up no matter what the treatment was.  Alex had stage 4 cancer , there is no stage 5 ,so the odds were never really in his favour ,but he never gave up, he wanted to spend as much time with Harri as possible as well as James,Luke and Robin. Alex had two surgeries, several rounds of chemo and radio therapy as well as the constant round of tests but his cancer grew too rapidly for Alex to beat it no matter how hard he fought.   InFebruary 2013 we were told the tumour had grown back for the third time in the same place and that there were other tumours in different parts of Alex's brain, they were inoperable.   Alex was determined to be at Harri's first birthday but unfortunatly he died six weeks before. He was 23 years old and is missed everyday.   Harri age five and her friends will be walking 5k in Alex's memory to raise money for The Teenage Cancer Trust which is an invaluable resource for teenagers and young adults undergoing cancer treatment as well as their families.  They looked after Alex and Harri when Alex was very sick.Harri was with Alex through all of his treatments, spending many hours a day at the hospital. .Harri was with Alex when he died and will always have a special connection with him.Let's raise as much money as we can so that one day children like Harri will grow up with their big brothers by there side , holding their hands and laughing together instead of losing their big brothers to this cruel disease.

A   Life EXtraordinary
