There is nothing more heartbreaking than the death of a child. Harry was only loaned to us for a short time, unfair as this may be we can now mourn his passing with his greatest gift.....love.

From the moment of his birth, Laura his devoted mum and Julie his adoring nanny were given a true and everlasting love. A love that shone through each and every one of Harry's days. A love so complete that no matter what Harry had to endure he was cradled in the expert arms of the two people on earth who knew no limit to this love. Only they knew how to hold him, bathe him, nourish and tuck him into bed at the end of a difficult day. They watched over him as he slept and comforted him in his pain. They have been amazing.

Harry's special needs did not stop Laura and Julie sharing him with others. He has enjoyed little holidays down in Devon where he felt the sea breezes and sunshine on his beautiful face. He has been to Ashend farm and felt the bumpy tractor ride. He has met all the exotic animals at Twycross zoo and felt the splash of the sea lion at SeaWorld. And he has known the warmth of Barney's soft nose, so gentle.

Harry's world was one of "touch". For one little boy he indeed
touched many lives. He has been held in the heart of our family at 64 and beyond. He has felt the love of his great grandparents, great aunts, great uncles, cousins and friends and we will miss him so.

He has touched the lives of all the wonderful medical staff who have supported him in Birmingham Children's hospital, Acorns hospice, Zoe's Place and all the community nurses who visited him at home. Laura and Julie would like to thank each of you for your kindness and the long hours of care you gave to Harry. Special thanks to Louise Simmons - an amazing metabolic nurse whose dedication knows no bounds. And in return I am sure Harry taught you too, broadened your medical knowledge and fine tuned your special skills. 

Reflecting now on Harry..... I don't want to ask "Why"...we
will never know, but let us remember "Love". The precious love we have for our little man, gone too soon. Keep Laura and Julie in your thoughts and Harry in that quiet warm peace that he has surely found.
