#tandem jump · 2 June 2013

We are a youth-driven organisation supporting a global movement of young people to take action. We exist to ignite youth-led action to create solutions to the world’s most urgent problems. We support young people by connecting them with the skills, networks, platforms and experiences to lead change.

Story

In early-mid August I am planning on doing a sponsored tandem skydive in order to raise money for an expedition to Central America with Raleigh International. After a morning of training at Netheravon, my instructor and I will jump out of a plane at 13,500 feet. I'm expecting the ride of my life: 30 seconds of freefall, an exciting landing and lots of photographs!

I am doing the jump because on the 10th of October I will be going to Costa Rica and Nicaragua for ten weeks with Raleigh International. During this time, we will be involved in community and environmental projects, as well as a trek through the jungle. I am very much looking forward to the whole thing but, in particular, I am hoping to be involved in the conservation of endangered turtles.

In order to join the expedition I must raise £3,150 by the 15th of August, i must also cover the costs of flights and vaccinations. I have already raised a significant amount through part time work and a school grant. Acheiving my £2000 target here will help me greatly in my fundraising endeavours. I plan to raise the remainder by doing more part time work.
