Nobody *really* likes running, right? I mean I sort of do and sort of despise it. So when I received a work email offering the opportunity to run the Great North Run, I clearly jumped (or ran) at the chance. 

I’m going to be running the Great North Run on 8th September this year for the charitable arm of my workplace, to raise money to support people affected by mental health issues. Since at least 1 in 4 of us experience, at some time or another, mental health issues, and 3 in 4 of us are related to, love, or otherwise know 1 in 4 of us, we’re basically raising money to support everyone.

I’ve run the GNR before in a half-decent 2 hours 17 minutes, but as I’m asking for donations towards this great cause I am pledging now to complete the half in 2 hours or below. This is going to be a huge challenge for me given my general lack of discipline with fitness related things, and my general lack of fitness in general. So any donations, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated from me and everyone being supported by Mental Health Concern. Oh yes, and before I forget, I will be updating everyone with photos and run descriptions regularly so that will be a delight.
