The UCL Cancer Institute Research Trust exists to support the work of the UCL Cancer Institute. We aim to improve the quality of life and survival of those with cancer, and to develop a generation of new, more effective targeted and individualised treatments.

Story

On the 22 April 2012 I will be running the London Marathon (my first marathon.....) for the UCL Cancer Institute Research Trust.  The institute is a state of the art facility doing cutting-edge, life saving research across a number of cancer types.  Under its energetic and inspirational Director, Professor Chris Boshoff, the Institute has gone from strength to strength but, like all such facilities, it is always constrained by what it would like to do by lack of funds.  This is where we can really help.

Cancer affects one in three individuals in the U.K., and one in four will die from this disease.  I am therefore determined to raising at least £2,000 to help the Trust meets its £1.5m target for equipping the new Cancer Informatics Centre.  This new facility will help us understand the genetic basis of cancer to inform the best treatment for that specific individual.

NLP assisted the Trust in getting planning permission for the building that will house this new ground breaking Informatics Centre.  NLP also gained consent for the Institutes main site - the Paul O'Gorman building on Huntley Street.  As an member of the UCL Alumni (The Bartlett, 2003), I am now offering my personal support (and hopefully that of my amazing friends and family) to help the Trust's mission to defeat cancer.

Thank you for any support you can give.
