Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you will know Zach spent last Christmas in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham. We have decided to try and raise money for a new Paediatric bed (see attached photo). While Zach was a patient there, he was put on to one of these beds that was being trialled during his stay there. It has clear sides which allow parents to see their child without having to look through bars. It has four moveable plates, which makes moving the child from prone to sitting easier, as they are paralysed and sedated and have to be man handled. It has a trough in the base for an oxygen cylinder which makes transfer between departments easier. It has an inbuild x-ray plate which means the patient hasn't got to be moved to get it behind them prior ro x-raying. If we raise enough we can pimp it up with stands for pumps and syringe drivers which mount on to the bed, again making transfer between departments even easier still. PICU have also agreed to name the bed 'the Zach bed'.
Thank you
