As many of you know, last November Mum/Grandma was diagonised with cancer.  She had advanced disease which led to her undergoing chemotheraphy, major surgery and further chemotheraphy.  We are very proud of how mum/Grandma faced her treatment and the courage she has shown throughout it all.  

We are delighted that mum is now in remission and decided to do something to help others who develop cancer in the future and better still, prevent cancer.  So, the Heafeys are 'on the run'. The five of us aim to run a total of 50 miles and raise £300 for Cancer Research UK.  Over 4 weeks we will be participating in various organised running events which will subquently also help other cancer charities such as MacMillian Cancer Support. 

We chose Cancer Research UK as our main chairty because it is fighting cancer on all fronts.  They have helped to find new ways to prevent cancer and made significant progress in understanding and treating cancer in order to save more lives. Their groundbreaking work has helped double survival rates in the last forty years.  Cancer research UK is entirely funded by the public and with the help of your donation can ensure more people beat cancer.
