My very long and problematic relationship with alcohol isn’t a secret. How much it was affecting my mental health however wasn’t something I was shouting about.

When I lost mum to her own issues with alcohol I let my bad habits with booze slowly creep up over time until I realised that I was probably drinking too much. I wanted to make some big life changes and take back control.

I began really looking after both my physical and mental health as my way of tribute to her, and thanks to the wonderful help I continue to receive from Oasis Project I can proudly say despite a few bumps along the road I’m happily sober & in the best place I’ve been in years.

Oasis Project give hope to people affected by drugs and alcohol. They help women, children and families find the strength and opportunities to make choices that lead to change. They are all absolute rockstars and I’m so, so excited to run my first 10k for them!
