Some of you may know I lost my beautiful daughter Lucy Rose Billingham in 1994. She was born on the 26th April 1994 but unfortunately there were complications brought on by preeclampsia and after a brave fight we lost her on the 8th May 1994 it was a very traumatic time for my family but the one constant thought as I look back was the support from the special care baby unit doctors and nurses that cared for our dear daughter they were so caring and supportive to us and the facilities supplied by the hospital allowed us to stay with Lucy for the time she was with us and this year I have decided to take part in the annual Tough Guy event in memory of Lucy and raise money for the Little Lives charity and YOUR wonderful donation will help purchase cots, ventilators, family support rooms and bereavement counselling.
A little about the TOUGH GUY event:
http://www.toughguy.co.uk/index.php
Taking place on Sunday 27th January 2013,in freezing winter conditions, the Tough Guy race is staged over 15 kilometres. It consists of a cross-country run followed by an assault course, tougher than any other worldwide event, featuring 25 obstacles, including a slalom run up and down a hill, ditches, jumps, freezing water pools, fire pits and so on. Running the course involves risking barbed wire, cuts, scrapes, burns, dehydration, hypothermia, acrophobia, claustrophobia, electric shocks, sprains, twists, joint dislocation and broken bones.
I would personally like to thank you for you donation and support I will be updating the site and sending progress reports out about my training and progress.
So please dig deep.
Thank You,
Heath
