My mum, Heather Hutchinson, died at 1:10am on Wednesday 5th October. She was diagnosed just over 3 weeks before and told that she was terminal 2 weeks before. We expected 3 months with her, but sadly we only had 12 days after she came home.

Nottinghamshire Hospice are an incredible charity that gave us the the opportunity to bring mumma back home with their Hospice at Home service. Every incredible carer we met gave so much love, care and dignity into everything they did to support her and us. Helping with everything from her partial loss of speech, to mobility, to making us laugh at an impossible time. Without them, we would have been unable to care for her and she would not have been able to die peacefully at home with us all, as she so desperately wanted. The NHS provide a Fast Track care package for those with less than 6 months to live but, due to funding cuts, this only came through for us on the morning of her death, so we would have been unsupported without Nottinghamshire Hospice. Their saying is "adding life to days" and they added so much joy to each of her days - we are in awe of what they can do.

So to allow them help even more people in similar desperately sad situations, I am shaving off all of my (now very long again!) hair to raise money for them. Please give generously as much as you are able!
