Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in a sponsored canoeing trip into the wilderness of northern Sweden.  This involves travelling down 90k of the Harkan river and lakes system in an open Canadian canoe, camping in the woods, cooking over an open fire...

It's far north, some 500k north of Stockholm. Lapland isn't far away. Elk, arctic foxes, reindeer, bears, wolves, moose, brown bear, beaver, and lynx are said to be in these parts.... (Don't be fooled by the photos here, actually taken in Devon. They were the nearest images found in my photo files to represent what I imagine the Swedish wilderness might look like - if it were much further south and the sun was shining!)

It's an understatement to say I'm apprehensive.  

But this is for a good cause.  Odyssey is a great charity which offers the challenge of a sense of adventure at free residential courses in rural parts of the UK for people who have cancer.  I love the idea of canoeing to raise money for it.

I am paying to go on this trip including personal expenses myself so all fundraising contributions collected here will go directly to the charity. (I have also added in my 'decluttering fund' which has raised £495 so far.)
