The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Hello Folks

Helen here, some of you might remember my house flooding in December. What a Trauma.........still not home :( Anyway instead of giving up I decided to give back. I thought about donating a organ but in the end just Kidney go through with it. In the end I settled on Land's End to John O Groats on a bike.

I finally got round to purchasing a second hand  bike in February and have been avoiding any inclement weather on it since. I even went to Mallorca on a "training" trip but might have got lost somewhere between the bar and the buffet most days! Honestly it's not been easy as I am in no way a natural athlete, the personal time commitment has been significant, my butt is numb and moreover i don't have a haircut that sits well after 8 hours of helmet wearing

I'm doing the cycle for the Prince's Trust and cycling as the Trust Ambassador. I'll be using the opportunity to speak with the other 849  riders doing the Deloitte RAB  www.rideacrossbritain.com about all the fantastic work the trust does supporting young people to transform their lives.

To add insult to injury I'll be walking all 4 kilt walks to raise awareness of the support that you and others give through your time and expertise.

It costs around £1000 to support a young person on a PT Programme. Hopefully by cycling 1000 miles in 9 days and walking the streets of Scotland's cities I can support 1 more.

If you are able please donate a little or a lot, I'm pretty sure the more I raise the less painful it will be.............one can only hope. If not feel free to laugh at me cycling up the side of the M74 on 13th September 2018

Yours in hope
