Ruby riches of forty years

Lets raise a glass and all say cheers

Of love and life and how they care

And all the kindness they both do share

A relationship like theirs is one of admiration

It takes blood, tears and perspiration

We are calling on you to help celebrate

The decades theyve been the others “mate”

Some would say you could murder for less

However as much in love since the day they said “yes”

We want to invite you to come and share

Those happy memories you have of the pair

From just after noon till very late

Come have a drink and fill up a plate

As years go by we gather at more sombre affair

So lets have a party and get worse for wear……

You may feel the need to present them an offering

But before you do please hear a harmless warning

Life is so short and before its too late

They want to do things that others would hate

They have pots, pans, and plants galore

And have a “bucket” list they want to do more

One of which is to do with the sky

Being a bird, soaring way up high

One scared of heights, the other a secret thrill seeker

Certainly 2 people you won’t find meeker

For some strange reason and we think insane

Dave and Sue want to jump out of a plane

Therefore we’ve organised a sky dive for Charity

So instead please consider a donation to Parity

Once known as the Spastic Society and Scope

For persons with severe disabilities they will bring some hope

Please bear in mind this is still a surprise

Presented at their party, making the blood pressure rise

We hope you can make it to join in the fun

Of seeing their faces will be second to none

On behalf of them we thank you in advance with applause

Who would agree with us this is a worthwhile cause

They are very brave people especially given their age

So please give to their Just giving page
