Story

THANK YOU!!!

Charlotte would like to raise money for The Encephalitis Society by doing a 5k onesie fun run/walk at castle park colchester on the 5th October at 10am with her little sister Aimee and her mum. .

In July 2013 Charlotte suffered for a couple of days with headaches and generally feeling unwell, but whilst in euro disney a couple of days later (well the hotels we didnt make it as far as the park) the confusion, drowsiness and disorientation kicked in along with changes in personality and behaviour, cutting the holiday short once back in colchester AandE we found this was caused by Encephalitis (which id never heard of) a rare but serious condition causes inflammation of the brain.  After spending 9 days in hospital which were very touch and go as to her future she underwent catscans, mri scans, lumbar puncture and lots more she was one of the lucky ones and made a good recovery with loads of support from family and friends but still a year on it plays a huge part in her and our every day lifes which still affects her confidence, concentration, socialising, eating, sleeping, anxiety and change of behaviour and personality, whether this will ever improve only time will tell. But to her family she is perfect..

We were incredibly lucky Encephalitis can be life threatening we just count our lucky stars it wasnt for Charlotte.

Please give generously if you can but every little helps reach our target, Charlotte asked to do this onesie run/walk for The Encephalitis Society. Thank you. Xxx
