Our (my sister Anna and I's) brilliant Nan, Charlotte Milner, was cared for by and passed away in Ashgate Hospice, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, in February of this year. She and my Mum couldn't speak highly enough of the care she received there, and we will be forever grateful to them for this.

Ashgate would usually be one of the main charities benefitting from fundraising by participants in Chesterfield Half Marathon and 10k, but like many other running events, they had to be cancelled this year due to Covid-19. When I found out that the hospice was looking for runners to complete a virtual version of the race this weekend instead, I knew immediately that I wanted to take part.

Since having my daughter, Françoise, in January, I've returned to running regularly, although I'm not quite at half marathon distance yet! However, I am able to run 10k, which I will be doing this Saturday as a virtual race to fundraise for Ashgate Hospice. If you are able to sponsor my run, any amount, however small, would be very gratefully received. The hospice is a charity relying solely on donations, and have found that Covid-19 has had a real impact on how they carry out their very worthwhile work.
