Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Please read my story which involves two very special people..........  A teenage girl meets a teenage boy, they fall in love, they play, laugh and cry together.  They are both ambitious she is a successfull hair/make-up artist and he is a talented footballer who then practices and lectures sports therapy.  They travel the world together and are the happiest, least selfish, sportiest and most fun couple to have as friends....  they start living together and after a number of years have a fabulous marriage, gorgeous house and then time to start planning a family.  Annabel falls pregnant and Bruce is the happiest Father to be.......A fairy tale which some may be slightly envious of.......Then their perfect world falls apart.  Bruce is diagnosed with a disease called Motor Neurones which many of you will know is the same as Stephen Hawkins.  This is an incurable disease which over a period of time means that your organs stop working but your mind remains active.  Annabel has a little boy called Noah who is delightful and they try to live as normal life as possible.  Time goes by and by a miracle they have another little addition called Henry, however Bruce still always with a smile on his face is finding the illness hard to fight.  Annabel throws an amazing party for Bruce's 40th birthday, but a few months later his fight comes to an end.

I started running around the same time as Bruce was first diagnosed with MND.  I have run a couple of 5K charity runs for Cancer and a 10K.  However I wanted more of a challenge and when some friends talked about a half Marathan I thought this would be a fantastic time to push myself and raise awareness, plus money for the charity to go towards research and a cure.  The training is going well, although now I am attempting some longer runs at weekends I am feeling tired.  I am lucky to run along the rivers of Richmond and with my boyfriend who will also be running, so we can support each other.  I hope to run around 21/4 hours
