Story
Many of you will know that sadly my mum lost her battle with cancer a couple of weeks ago and passed away at St. Michael's Hopsice in Hereford. She had fought couragously and been very strong throughout her illness and I am very proud of the passion, dignity and energy that she lived her life with. She is a true inspiration, not just to me and my sister, but to the many, many people she helped throughout her life; with her teaching, as a Samaritan, and as a friend amongst others. I cannot express enough how much the Hospice helped us all during mums final days. The staff were amazing, both for mum and for us and I cannot begin to describe how important a job they do - they allow people to spend their last days in as much possible comfort, and give respect, dignity and care to each person as an individual as well as their families. This year alone it will cost £3.8 million for the hospice to care for and support patients, carers, families and friends and they rely on voluntary donations for 90% of their income, which is unbelievable considering the invaluable service they provide. My Mum was the most generous person I know, so please sponsor me in memory of her, so that other people who are unfortunate to have a terminal illness, and their families can have these final days made more comfortable and supported.
So......I am going to be doing a Skydive from 13,000ft on Friday 11th June! I know jumping out of a plane is a bit dramatic but I think it reflects the energy and zest for life that my mum lived with!!
