Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. We provide information and support to patients and their families and help myeloma patients live longer, with a better quality of life by accelerating the discovery, development of and access to new treatments.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the JustGiving page in aid of raising funds for Myeloma UK.

Our friend Chris Mitchell was diagnosed with Myeloma in February 2010. The diagnosis was a bolt from the blue and came at a difficult time when other family members were also dealing with serious illness. Since then he has suffered a great deal but has bravely endured chemotheraphy and long bouts in hospital without being able to see his young daughers. Recently Chris received a stem cell transplant which restored him to the man we all knew. He is now recovering from a bone marrow transplant and we know he would like to thank his donor for their great generousity. Myeloma UK needs funds to raise awareness among GPs about this illness as it is difficult to detect as well as money for research.
