Why the London Marathon?

4 years ago I dragged myself around the Warwick Half Marathon as a "break" from revision and was pretty much carried over the finish line by the one and only running machine, Frankie Salzano (who had already finished and had to come back and find me.....) It was not a pretty sight and the St John's ambulance staff were not impressed by my 'drop to the floor' style finish. 

So, for comical value I'm back and I'm attempting the whole thing. Could go one of two ways but hopefully it will still result in a similarly dramatic finish for you all.

It would be fantastic to see as many of your faces along the way to help drag me along on the 28th April.

Why Care International?

I'm raising funds for Care International to help them with their aim to end poverty. The work Care International does to tackle poverty and social injustice not only saves lives in emergencies but also helps build longer-term solutions to give communities a better and more sustainable future.

I chose to support Care International because in their quest to end poverty and social injustice they focus their efforts on women and girls. Of the 1.2 billion people who are in poverty, the majority are women and girls who are denied basic human rights; health care, education, income and freedom of choice. Care International helps to build a sustainable future for communities in poverty, as they know that when girls get an education they build better lives for themselves and their families, and when women have an income, they invest in their children and create hope for future generations.

Any donation that you can give would be incredibly appreciated by myself but also the brilliant team at Care International. I will also be hosting a number of fundraising events so keep your eyes peeled for more details on these.
