Story
In 2006, I lost my friend Tom when he was robbed and stabbed fatally by two teenagers, on his way home from the tube. He was just 31.
Admirably, Tom's parents, fiance and employers decided to set up a trust in his memory, to give disadvantaged young Londoners a brighter future and a greater appreciation of the value of life; both their own and other people's. Tom'sTrust gives 100% of the money it raises to organisations which provide educational and vocational training opportunities to those who might not otherwise have access to them, in the hope that they too can achieve their potential and lead rewarding lives. Another goal is to help tackle the root causes of violent gang culture and violent street crime. In this way, the donations made to Tom's Trust are being used to ensure that as much good as possible comes out of Tom's tragic and senseless death.
I have decided to join the annual 100 mile cycle ride from London to Oxford this year, and would really appreciate anything that you can give.
Thanks,
Henry
