Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I have decided to support this great charity , fundraising and increasing awareness, we all know someone who at some point in their life will need this support, so lets make sure that they know where they can turn to.
Great Yarmouth & Waveney Mind is 1 of 127 local Minds in England and Wales working in partnership with National Mind. Local Minds are independent charities - they raise their own funds and have their own Board of Trustees who are responsible for how they’re run. Being local they understand the community and tailor their services in response to what people need most. Being part of the Mind network means they benefit from shared support, knowledge and ideas. Nationally, Mind gives advice and support to anyone who needs it, campaigns to improve services and raise awareness. They work in partnership with Mind nationally and the other local Minds in our network to deliver high quality services to anyone who needs them.
For forty years Great Yarmouth & Waveney Mind have been delivering a range of information and services to help people suffering from mental distress live full and independent lives. They provide one to one support, social groups and workshops for young people, adults and carers. They run a residential housing service, enabling residents to live as independently as possible in a supportive and homely environment. They also run a half acre community garden project and provide mental health education and promotion to individuals, schools, colleges and businesses.
The national attention that mental health has received during the year has been a real positive step towards reducing the stigma of poor mental health.
Locally, this has led to a year of unprecedented demand on health and wellbeing services.
