Story
Those of you that know me will remember that in 2009, I completed the 'Band of Brothers Bike Ride' between Portsmouth & Paris as part of a Dell team raising £10,000 for Help for Heroes.
In 2010 I joined the 'Bridge Too Far Bike Ride' to Arnhem raising £2,700.
Then in 2013, with help & encouragement from my friends at Willingham Wheels, I got back in lycra to complete the 'Big Battlefield Bike Ride' from Paris to London, finishing in memorable style in the Mall raising £2800.
Last year, I persuaded some of my friends to join me on an overnight ride from Cambridge to Blackheath to take part in the Hero Ride - a mass 10 mile ride into the centre of the capital.
Well I've signed up for the Hero Ride again but in 2015 we're going to finish in Windsor!
Taking place on Sunday 21st June 2014, it will unite riders travelling from all four points of the compass; Edinburgh, Catterick, Plymouth, Tidworth, Guildford, Chilterns and Paris as well as the group that I’m joining which are cycling 100 miles overnight from Colchester via London.
Despite all the miles I've clocked up over the years, I've never completed 'a century' before so it will be a challenge - not least because I'm 50 this year!!

Now the really important bit...
While the UK Services role in Afghanistan drew to a close in towards the end of 2014, the support for our wounded, injured and sick Service personnel, veterans and their families must continue to be a lifetime commitment. Fundraising to support the work of Help for Heroes is as important now as it was when the charity first began in 2007.
Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent the charity will receive an extra 28% at no cost to you.
Thank you for all your support.
