Story
Hello, friends. I don't often post on social media, but I figured it was about time I did something constructive with my time.
A few months ago, Jess convinced me to ride the Hebridean Way, a 185 mile cycle route that stretches across the Outer Hebrides, and thanks to my inability to say no, I said yes. Now, the logical thing to do would have been to eat healthily, ride a bike regularly, and just generally get in shape. Instead, I've pretty much just eaten burgers and gained half a stone over the last six weeks, which is obviously the same way professional cyclists prepare for what I'm cautiously referring to as "just a big bike ride, really".
I've been searching for a charity to do this in aid of for a few weeks now, and on Tuesday night I bumped into some lovely people who are currently climbing the height of Everest in a week for Endeavour, a charity that works with disadvantaged young people to get them involved in the outdoors as a way of empowering them. I've had a pretty fortunate life, and I've been able to do a load of cool stuff due to the circumstances I happen to have been born into, but there's loads of kids throughout the UK who haven't been born as lucky as me. Endeavour takes these kids, and not only takes them on fantastic outdoor trips, but also helps with their in-classroom learning as well. It's with this in mind that I'm torturing myself next week, and I'd be eternally grateful if you've got any spare cash lying around that you'd donate to such an awesome cause.
