Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are taking part in two events this year:

  • The Wye Valley Mighty Hike on 7th September which involves hiking a marathon (26 miles) through the Wye Valley from Chepstow to Monmouth.
  • The Cardiff Half Marathon on 6th October.

"It would take more than both hands to count the number of people close to me who have been affected by Cancer. I felt it was about time I did something to help. This is a huge challenge for me as I have never even run a mile in my life, let alone run 13 of them and hike 26. At the age of 38, I'm a little late to the table, but if I can do it, anyone can"  Carys

"Cancer has affected me personally and other members of my family so I'm running for a cause very close to my heart. It will be the first time that I have done any fundraising of this kind since my dad passed away from oesophageal cancer and I had my diagnosis of cervical cancer (this is now all clear). I would love to be able to say that I can complete the double events and mark that my body is physically well to such challenges after so many years of hospital visits."  Rosalyn

"Cancer has made an unwelcome appearance in some of our close friends and families lives. Unfortunately my little girls never got to meet their Nanny as she lost her battle with cancer before they were born. Raising money to fight this horrible disease is important to us as a family, as well as teaching my children the importance of helping others"  Sian

“I am looking forward to both challenges and raising as much money as possible to help fund the amazing work that Macmillan Cancer Support provide to so many families during such difficult times.”  Hannah
