We inspire young people from NI & India to change the world by working together

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been so fortunate to have had the opportunity to accompany Northern Ireland senior pupils and spend time in Northern India, particularly Mussourie and Dehradun, where saphara works to assist with the teaching programmes in two schools Kaplani and Sneha. The pupils and teachers I have been privileged to meet and work beside are truly some of the bravest and most inspiring individuals I’ve ever met. Saphara supports them in so many ways and as trips are cancelled for this year, they require much needed funds to pay staff wages and keep communities safe.

These times of extreme difficulty for us all globally make us have time to stop and reflect. As we look at our own plight, I’m heartbroken at the scenes of displacement and devastation in India. Most people there will not be able to socially distance themselves or have running water to wash hands. Most will not be able to afford to stay home and there have been scenes where some in marginalised communities are opting for the streets once more as a “ safer” option than the over crowded conditions they inhabit.

As we watch these events unfold, many of us might feel incapable of helping.  If any of you would like to donate to this cause , I will be hugely indebted .
