Hilary spent the last weeks of her life at St Gemma's Hospice, in Leeds, where she was lovingly cared for. St Gemma's made sure that Hilary's passing  was comfortable, pain free and peaceful. They supported Mark, Hilary's family and friends throughout and particularly at the end.

The staff were instrumental in organising Hilary's wedding to Mark at the hospice, allowing her to fulfill one of her dying wishes. 

St Gemma's is a lovely place and Hilary loved having a room with a view of the beautiful garden. The whole hospice team are fantastic, so kind and Mark and Hilary's family cannot thank them enough for all the wonderful care they gave.

Hospices rely on charity donations for their survival, with only a small proportion of their total income coming from the NHS budget.  Without these donations, they couldn't survive, meaning other patients wouldn't have the benefit of the level of care and support Hilary received.
