Established in 2011 in West Kenya, HGiving set out to provide free housing and education to orphans, whilst growing crops and generating wealth creation and education systems to provide a sustainable future for the centre.  Plus also, to reach out to the local community to offer jobs, education and support. In the 5 years that have passed, the project has faced many difficulties in regards to lands, funding and other resources. That inspired them to start 'Project Sustainability', which has four main objectives:

1. Use the land to grow crops, create jobs and produce an income for the project, so the centre can become self-sustainable.

2. Raise funds to construct or repair buildings and facilities and buy fundamentals such as desks, beds, books and mattresses, food, soap etc.

3. To support the students, teachers, staff and local population in ways that enables them to grow individually, and as a community. 

4. To bring volunteers into the school and work with them to continue improving the project, as well as working with volunteers from home. 

I have been inspired by this organisation and I will be part of a small group of volunteers this August, where I will contribute through teaching and supporting building/ gardening projects and anything else that I am called to do.  I am there to be to serve.  I am aiming to raise £2,000 for the school and any kind donations to support would be welcomed. Whether big or small.  Donating through JustGiving is a safe, simple, easy and secure platform and all funds are sent directly to the charity.
