On the 22nd August 2020, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Dementia, my dad passed away peacefully.  

He was a very talkative, active, healthy and independent person who was full of life and would talk to anyone. At the end he was reduced to a shadow of his former self, who lost the ability to speak and was fully dependent on nursing staff for everything.

This is a terrible disease, you see the person you love disappear before your eyes and it has a devastating effect on the ones who remain. 

We need to beat this disease.
